Anti Ragging

The Honourable Supreme Court of India has given a comprehensivemeaning of ragging as :

“Raggingis any disorderly conduct, whether by words spoken or written, or by an actwhich has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness anystudent, indulging in rowdy or indisciplined activities which cause or arelikely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear orapprehension thereof in a fresher or a junior student and which has the effectof causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adverselyaffect the psyche of a fresher or a junior student.” In simple words, itinvolves insults (direct or suggestive; sexual or sarcastic), running errandsfor seniors and any kind of bullying or activities that are demeaning to thenew entrants.

Raggingis strictly prohibited in Digvijay College. Disciplinary action will be takenagainst any such acts. Depending upon the nature and gravity of the offense,possible punishments for those found guilty of ragging at the institution levelshall be any one or any combination of the following- cancellation of admission,suspension from attending classes & debarring from appearing in anytest/examination or other evaluation process.
